The Supreme Court of Ohio held that merely moving into a home with another while engaging in a romantic relationship is not consideration for the formation of a contract, and thus, it is unenforceable. While it is true that courts generally do not inquire into the adequacy of consideration once it is found to exist, it must be determined in a contract case whether any "consideration" was really bargained for. If it was not bargained for, it could not support a contract. The Supreme Court reversed the judgment of the Ninth District Court of Appeals
