AIM:Following consultation with local pharmaceutical companies, an education need to train employees of the pharmaceutical and related industries in analytical methods that are appropriate to the needs of the sector has been identified.
This Masters programme is designed to provide graduates with first degrees in Chemistry, Pharmacy and related subjects with advanced knowledge and high-level practical skills in laboratory analysis.
Apart from basic and advanced separation, spectroscopic and characterisation techniques, this programme aims to train students on aspects of quality assurance and quality control, as well as the preparation of scientific and technical reports in a GMP environment.

ASSESSMENT
A combination of written examinations, continuous assessment and a dissertation thesis based on a three-month research project.

This programme is designed to prepare students for employment as analysts in the pharmaceutical and related industries. There is currently a high demand, both locally and internationally, for graduates with analytical skills in this sector.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Part-time students who are already in suitable professional employment may, with the support of their employer, be able to undertake a work-based project. Additional industry-based research project positions may be made available for full-time (non-employed) students.
