Apraxia is generally found in patients with leftsided brain damage. Assessment of apraxia can be through either informal methods, such as observation of the patient performing functional tasks, or more formal methods, using standardized tests such as the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (Ayres, 1989). Treatment of apraxia focuses on practicing functional tasks, such as activities of daily living or nonfunctional tasks that are designed to improve sequencing of skills.
