This led Piaget (1966) to conclude that children younger than 7 years of age are consumed with extreme egocentricity and unable to differentiate the self from the non-self, so the child between 18 months and 7 years of age is predominantly egocentric, demanding,dependent, socially inept and “…unconsciously centred upon himself ”,and “experiences the greatest difficulty in entering into anyone else’s point of view” (p. 216).
