In the New Zealand case studies considered here, Māori and Pasifika evaluators were part of the evaluation teams. In the evaluation to support the development of Whānau Ora for Youth Mental Health services by Māori and Pasifika service providers, Goodwin et al. (2015) observe that, particularly at the beginning of the evaluation, the cultural fit of the evaluation team—consisting of one Pasifika and two Māori evaluators—was important to the service providers.
