RFID is an umbrella term for systems that use radio waves to identify items bearing suitably equipped tags . That means the use of radio frequency signals to provide automatic identification of items . One application of radio frequency tracing capabilities is for yard management . Such a system traces vehicles'arrival and departure times ,identifies locations and searches yards for lost equipment.Forklifts can be similaryly tracked in warehouses.Tags on trucks can be read as far as a quarter of a mile.
