The greater part of the residue at harvest consists of the residue deposit applied at the lastapplication. Since the persistence of the pesticide residue may be different in different timesof the season, the growing stage at the last application should be recorded. For example, inmoderate climate zones the residue decrease of several pesticides in autumn is in general lessthan in high summer, due to the higher light intensity (UV) and the higher temperature in thelatter period. Code numbers (preferably BBCH) used to describe growth stages should befully explained.
