activity was occurring in R30 than the other two SAnMBRs e
R60 and RN. To determine the different biomass activity in the
three SAnMBRs, batch testing of SMA by cultivating biomass
with SRT of 30, 60 and infinite day and HRT of 10 h was carried
out. Because approximately 70% of the methanogenesis is
converted through acetate route (Haandel and Lettinga, 1994),
sodium acetate was used as the substrate of SMA test and
a higher methane production would imply a higher acetoclastic-
mehanogenesis activity.
