I had been to pattaya and has checked in vista on 21 october 2012, I had stay booked for 2 days. I reached hotel in morning around 9 am but as per the policy they didnt give me room till 2 pm. I found it bit irritating as it was quite obvious that reception girl was lying that they had no empty room. This goes on the negative part. Hotel Lobby is good and comfortable, we used the washroom on ground floor to get fresh, dumped our luggage with conceirge and went on to explore the city by foot. It really helped us to know how near the hotel was from some the very important landmarks as well as tourist amenities. Same is the case with pattaya beach, hotel is extremely near to beach and beach market. There are few indian restaurants located on beach side. Alcazar is extremely near to the hotel and so are eating joints, malls, foreign exchange, etc. After serious requesting we were able to check in by 1.30 pm. The standard room is quite large, comfortable and cosy, adequately furnished, had a large bed and a balcony but latter is not of much use as view is extremely pathetic. The bath area is bit small with tinted glass wall separating it from room. However, beware the glass is extremely transparent and can be embarrasing if hotel staff is working in the room with you inside the bathroom. The swimming pool is good, breakfast is ok, being an indian and on top of it being a vegetarian had to live on fruits, salads, juices and bread :). Overall the staff is quite polite, efficient and customer focussed. The place is quite near to open eating joints (there is a one complete lane consisting of bars and eating joints just on opposite side of road separating alcazar and hotel lane as well as international eating joints such pizza hut, kfc etc. Also many good coffee shops are located nearby. There is big commercial shopping mall located very near to the hotel.
