Once upon a time,there lived a poor woodcutter.Every day he went our into the forest to cur wood.Then he sold the wood to the villagers to make a living.He worked much too hard but he got very little money for it.
One day, his axe fell into teh river when he was cutting wood.He was very worried.But he could not get it out of water.He didn't know what to do.So he shouted,"Help!Help!"But no one heard him and no one came to help the poor woodcutter.What should he do?
Just then an old man with white beard turned up before him.He aske the woodcuutter,"What's happening?"The woodcutter told him everything.The old man decided to help the woodcutter.He jumped into the water and after a while,he came out of the river with a silver axe in his hand,He asked,"Is this your axe?""No,it isn't mine,"said the woodcutter.
Then he jumped into the river again.This time he took out a golden axe."I this your axe?he asked again."Mo,it isn't,either,"said the woodcutter."My axe is not made of silver or gold but iron."So the white bearded old man jumped old man jumped into the river a third time.He took out an iron axe when he went out of water.The woodcutter was very glad as he saw his own axe.He was thankful to the old man.
