Look's 2016 795 Aerolight ups the ante for a lower price
New Zed3 cranks and upgraded handlebars for French firm's aero racer
For 2016, Look's 795 Aerolight not only gets some key upgrades over the 2015 model, but it's actually going to be around £2,000 cheaper. Get in.
Look's Zed3 aero crankset features a carbon monobloc construction
Okay, so it will still cost £5,999 (US and Australian prices to be confirmed), but that's still a massive saving on last year's tangibly fast aero racer. The 2015 bike drew mixed feelings from our US team, in part because of its price.
What benefits does the new model include? Well, you'll get the new Zed3 aero crankset, which weighs 360 grams and can be colour-coded to your choice. The new cranks feature a 100% carbon monobloc construction, and are available in three sizes from 155 to 175mm.
ADH Look handlebars weigh a measly 250 grams
The new 795 Aerolight also gets upgraded to ADH Look handlebars, which weigh just 250 grams, and can be provided in gloss or matt. Featuring fully internal cable routing, they've been developed for tight integration with the bike's distinctive aero stem.
Elsewhere, there's now full Shimano Dura-Ace shifting, Look's own Keo Blade 2 pedals, and Mavic Aksium Elite 25 wheels. Selle Italia's SLR Flow Monolink provides seating duties. Claimed weight is 7.13kg, meaning that it's over 300 grams lighter than last year's edition.
