A lot of profiles imply that the company is far lack of the competency to deal with a change circumstance.
Garments Galore (GG) Ltd, facing with intense world-wide competition and decline in the UK market, had to embark a consolidation strategy initially by reducing production site accompanying downsized its workforces, and then plotted a pay structure re-design system which was finally withdrawn, in the mean time HR directors were replaced frequently due to failing to come out of mud situation. The proposed changes at GG lead to unrest among its workforce, even among its routine activities. The employees felt betrayed and resentful. Some negative phenomena such as ageing workforce, redundancy, difference in pay structures, directly resulted in the increasing absenteeism,the low morale,signs of disenchantment and performance slipping.
