Summary Overhead contact system as the main power supply device of electrified railway, whose work directly affects the safe operation of trains. Catenary installation tension compensation system is designed to improve electric locomotive pantograph flow conditions, improve the quality and safety of railway operations, its function is to automatically adjust the tension of the line of contact, tension tends to be constant. If compensation device malfunctioned, locomotive pantograph and catenary current conditions worsen, driving safety hazards. Compensation device for remote monitoring based on catenary on the background, using detection technology to complete the railway along the design of condition monitoring system for catenary power compensation device, using GPRS communication technology enables data remote transmission. This paper introduces the development of catenary inspection technology and compensation structure and function of the device, based on the system design of the remote monitoring and compensation device, and introduce the whole system design and realization of software and hardware.
