In the basis surveying and mapping, DLG and map is often produced under the same task, but they are two working procedures, DLG production first, and then mapping, and they are under different systems. Production processes often overlapping existence situation, causing the confusion in severe cases. At present two sets of data, two processes, but the expression of content is familiar, resulting in inefficient production, at the same time the consistency of map and DLG is difficult to maintain, which affects the product application. So far , in the development of GIS, the major issue has not been effectively resolved. Digital line map product precisely this should be a unified , but due to the theory, technology, and other conditions not achieve reunification of the two products can be unified .The main purpose of the project is to research and application of key technology -- "digital line map" of the new products through new products of geographic information and map integration, so that it become the mainstream digital products in the basic geographic information industry, to better serve the information society from all walks of life.
