We do appreciate you described the issues so clearly which does help us understand the user’s pain point from a different usage perspective. Honestly, we ever discussed different ways to show/hide albums and one of the way is what you just proposed. This was actually the way we ever preferred and we ever tried during the implementations. However, this way was introducing more performance issues and usability problems for fitting current Gallery infrastructure and existing functionalities/viewing modes (Photos, Videos, Albums, Event walls and etc.). After having lots of discussions and experiments, we then decided to use moving files to make ‘show/hide albums’ function work in Gallery. We understand this is NOT a perfect solution and some tradeoffs; however, this is the most efficient way we can make it happen in current Gallery with the smallest side effects to avoid the critical performance and usability concerns. Besides, this is also the most acceptable solution to fit most users’ needs.

We are afraid this would be the current design we want it to be to support ‘Show/hide album’ function; however, we will address more details in Gallery’s FAQ in ASUS Support to help more users know how it works in Gallery in the future. Thank you.
