A summary of the LPA analyses are depicted in Table 3. Five different LPA solutions were estimated and compared according to substantive meaning and statistical criteria. According to the statistical criteria, except for the entropy value, each successive solution provided a better fit to the data than the previous solution. Therefore, we choose a five-class solution as our final model. The five-class solution provided adequate fit indices and the average latent class probabilities for most likely latent class membership was 0.85 or higher for each class (Table 2). A description of the five latent classes can be seen in Table 3. The final solution consisted of five latent classes that can be classified as athletes with low FF (class 1), average to low FF (class 2), average FF (class 3), high individual-average social focused FF (class 4), and high FF (class 5). The differences between the five latent classes with regard to the auxiliary variables perceived psychological stress, reduced sense of accomplishment, emotional exhaustion, and devaluation are displayed in Table 4.
