Aiming at the Sanshandao open-pit mine tailings reservoirs rock slope stability problem, considering the water level on the slope of the water pressure, transient seepage field, stress field, the calculation theory of improving the stability of rock slope, calculation of slope displacement using improved theory in the horizontal direction based on finite element method, using the comparative measurement of deep hole data cable instrument, found that the calculation value is consistent with the measured values, the maximum error is 0.02mm, the results indicate that the theory has good practicability on the seepage state of slope stability analysis; slope safety coefficient curve of transient time under the condition of rainfall was "V" shape, after rainfall compared with rainfall safety coefficient is reduced by 10.12% strong; rainfall infiltration caused the rise of ground water level, the minimum safety coefficient of slope, transient saturated zone is concentrated in the range of free face of the slope in 5-30m.
