an adverbial can be a word,e.g.,sometimes,usually,etc.,or a phrase(e.g.,all the time, on the table.)We use them to give extra information about a verb or adjective or even a whole sentence. Although there are some rule about which adverbials go where in a sentence (see note below),in practice the position of adverbials is quite flexible and the can be placed in one of three positions:at the beginning, with the main verb or at the end (of the clause or sentence). Adverb phrases tend to go at the end of the sentence or clause.
