本研究發現雲林縣國中經濟弱勢與外籍配偶之學生有逐年增加的趨勢，弱勢學生中以單親家庭與外籍配偶學生比例較高，尤以雲林縣口湖鄉最高。學生的需求以獎助學金、註冊費與午餐費為主。受訪老師認為參考書籍費、課後輔導費與校外教學費等需要補助，且地處偏遠的學校有交通費或住宿費的補助需求。除了物質需求，國中弱勢學生也需要心靈支持，家中親屬常因工作忙碌無暇照顧與陪伴，且目前的課輔與照顧班形式較僵化，無法引發學生學習動機；而弱勢生也希望增加運動場與圖書館硬體設施，運動休閒與課外書級軟體的需求。
