In addition to plate waste reduction, the EC campaign had other effects, such as the improvement of the separation of recyclable inorganic wastes by canteen users. Initial visual observations also revealed that inorganic recyclable wastes generated during meals, were not being efficiently separated into the respective containers. Zsóka et al. (2013), in a survey to University students from 23 of the 70 Universities in Hungary found that 21% of the students never disposed of their waste selectively. From visual analysis, more than this % was observed in this study.
