The data source for this study is the registered BM patents in USPTO. Due to the fact that USPTO provides online access to the full text (HTML or image) of patents through its website (http://www.uspto.gov), data can be gathered with comparative ease using the conditional search for each field of the patent document. After the target area is selected, by using the classification ‘705’ and keywords of the selected area, the patents in a concerned area are collected.
