Fate is sometimes not very kind to policemen like myself.Take as an example the recent trial in which i was involved.when i arrested the young lad i had felt sure he was guilty.i had been following him around for a couple of hours and he conducted himself suspiciously. He had been wandering about and it seemed to me that he was looking for an opportunity my suspicions.i thought i had at last caught the the thief who had been troubling the area for so long.
However,my joy was only temporary.when i saw the brilliant solicitor the boy`s father had hired to defend him,i knew we didn`t stand a chance .it turned out the boy was simply a student who was looking for temporary employment before going to university.if only he had been a bit more helpful when we arrested him,he could have saved us all a lot of time and trouble. It`s enough to make one turn against students.
