Parameter numHsScchCodes controls the number of HS-SCCH codes used, and as a result, the number of simultaneous HSDPA users for each TTI. It is possible to achieve a higher HSDPA performance due to more efficient use of the TTI by setting the numHsScchCodes parameter to a higher value (as described in HSDPA User Plane). Gain depends among others on the application behavior since users with low rate or bursty applications can share a TTI, which then improves performance.
