(1) The life of tap prolongs with cryogenic treatment compare with the tap without cryogenic treatment. The life of tap prolongs if cryogenic treatment is settled before tempering compare with cryogenic treatment after tempering.
(2) The advantage of cutting with cryogenic treatment is obvious when high hardness maertial is machined.
(3) -120℃ is the critical point if cryogenic treatment is accomplished before tempering. The life of tap changes little at -120℃～-196℃. According to it , W9 steel heat treatment process can be optimized. The lower the temperature is, the longer of life of tap is while cryogenic treatment is achieved after temper. （1）自来水的寿命与低温处理相比，无需低温处理。在回火处理后，在回火前，如果低温处理，则延长了其寿命。（2）与深冷处理加工优势明显，硬度高maertial加工。（3）在回火前，如果低温处理是关键点的话，120。的丝锥寿命变化不大，在120 - 196℃℃～。据此，W9钢的热处理工艺可以优化。温度越低，水龙头的寿命越长，而低温处理则是在回火后达到的。它适合W9钢切削深冷处理的参考价值。这项工作是山西省自然科学基金资助项目（no.2007031021）
