Corresponding to the results of Hsieh et al. (2011), who reported greater motor improvement after RT combined with functional task practice, the benefits for the RT groups in the present study maybe associated with the combination of RTs and functional task practice. The RTs might help as a motor priming (Stoykov & Madhavan, 2015), and the functional practice might consolidate the motor learning effects built on the RTs (Hung et al., 2016). However, without the comparison treatment of RTs alone, we could not explicate whether the motor improvements were derived from the combination of RTs and functional practice or from the RTs alone.
