Supply governance structures support decisions that lead to sustainable value through
operational performance for collaborative organisations (Gosh and Fedorowicz, 2008;
Young et al., 1996). Within the context of the reverse logistics (RL) system governance
structure is defined, by the authors, as the governance mechanisms which support the
processes that manage the reverse flow of materials and information. The RL system
governance should ensure that the decisions made support the long-term viability of the
organizations brought together to capture the inherent value of product being returned.
