Goal-directed colloid-crystalloid therapy significantlyimproved postoperative recovery, especiallyrestoration of gastrointestinal function and itshortened the hospital stay. We did not find any differencesconcerning postoperative complicationswhen comparing these two ways of therapies.If the fact that the duration of hospital dischargedelay was significantly shorter is taken intoconsideration, this way of beneficial therapy couldprobably contribute to lower costs of treatmentThe primary goalof intraoperative fluid administration is to ensureadequate circulating volume, which will in turnensure adequate blood circulation, tissue perfusionand oxygenation.
