Dobson et al. [19] examined effect of oleic acid on small intestinal transit time in human volunteers, at doses of 300 mg, 600 mg and 1200 mg.Effects were variable between volunteers but generally observed an increase in transit time with increasing oleic acid dose. The only statistically significant effect was on transit of the 111In- labelled tablet at a 1200 mg dose of oleic acid (> 316 min vs. 217 min for control)
