In vehicle test results are always invaluable, but it’s our experience to test all shock sensors in a laboratory environment for accurate and repeatable results. We deliver a measured (half sine) shock pulse to the unit under test, and expect desired light and full touch results at each VR setting, as compared to force measurements from an external accelerometer . This holds true to any shock sensor tested. The problem we observed with one of the validation units may be VR related, due to the fact that this unit was subjected to environmental testing. The shock profile slopes should be gradual along VR settings.
