To visualise the effect of identity on aftereffect magnitude across the expression continuum, Weibull functions were fit to the group average response functions for each condition in each continuum (Fig. 3a and b).
Consistent with previous research on within-emotion aftereffects (e.g., Fox & Barton, 2007), the strongest cross-emotion aftereffects and identity effects appear to be at the intermediate morph levels 50–70% (i.e., the most ambiguous stimuli on the continuum).
