变电站是汇集电源、升降电压和分配电力的场所，是发电厂和用户联系的中间环节。变电站按照其升降电压的不同分为升压变电站和降压变电站两大类。升压变电站是为了减少电能在运输过程中的损耗，将发电厂发出的电升压后输送到远方，降压变电站将高压电通过变压器转变为适合的低压电。
本文主要进行110KV变电站设计。通过对所建变电站及出线的考虑和对负荷的分析，在满足安全性、可靠性的要求确定了110KV、35KV、10KV侧主接线的形式，然后又通过简化的等值网络进行了短路计算，根据短路电流计算结果及最大持续工作电流，选择并校验电气设备。最后进行了电气主接线图的绘制。
