Veronica could see the trepidation on my face. She welcomed me to put the saw into the slit at the center of the box. "It's a really cool magic trick," she reminded me. "I can tell that you've always wanted to do it." She was right. I think she could see it in my eyes. Maybe she knew even when she made eye-contact with me earlier during the magic show. Maybe she has a sense for who's attracted to magic. "You won't hurt me," she coaxed. I gulped as the thought crossed my mind. "Well, not that much anyway," she teased as she smiled and giggled. Oh, she was really trying to have fun with me. "Really, it won't hurt me that much. It's ok. You can saw me in half," she said reassuringly. I didn't want to hurt her. I didn't want anything to go wrong. This poor girl. I didn't want anything to happen to this lovely girl. It would be a pity if the magic trick didn't work right.
"Saw me in half," Veronica prompted again. She was really encouraging me. It felt as if she wanted it as much as I wanted to. "This is your chance to be a magician." I looked at Veronica as she gave me a big smile and I couldn't help but smile, too. "This is going to be fun!" she exclaimed. I looked at her face, took a deep breath, and made up my mind that I would go ahead with the magic trick.
I pushed the saw into the slit at the center of the box. I could feel it landing onto something soft - Veronica's body, her beautiful body. I imagined that she would feel soft like this. "I can feel the saw just grazing across the top of my body," said Veronica as she confirmed my feel on the saw. "It's easier if you hold onto the box firmly with your other hand, so you can really push down on the saw with this hand. The cut will be straighter and smoother if you do that." Her guidance was reassuringly sweet, and she didn't stop smiling as she continued her encouragement. I push into the box with the saw but my first cut didn't go very deep. I felt the saw slide across something - her body - but I didn't feel like it cut in. Veronica winced, and I paused to look over to her. She took a second to compose herself again, and put a smile back on her face. "Push it in deeper," she encouraged. I did as she told me, and this time, I could definitely feel the saw cutting into something. Veronica winced again. I continued to saw into the box and Veronica, doing so slowly and carefully because I didn't want something to go wrong with the magic trick and I didn't want to not end up with a straight and smooth sawcut. I didn't want to disappoint Veronica.
