The expectation is that rich coordinatinggroups would allow not only the formation of cluster structuresbut also infinite linkage of such clusters into a polymericframework, which would qualify as a good candidate forheterogeneous catalysis. On the basis of this ligand, and incertain cases together with auxiliary ligands, a series ofcoordination polymers bearing different Cu−O clusterstructures have been synthesized, and their applications incatalyzing oxidation of primary aryl alcohols using hydrogenperoxide as an oxidant upon irradiation of visible light at roomtemperature have thus been examined.
