The Tainan Department of Health says the number of dengue fever cases in the
city has recorded a daily increase of 604 -- bringing the total to 12,066
since May 1-st.
According to Tainan government officials, only two of the city's 37 districts
currently remain free of the mosquito-borne disease.
The Tainan Hospital says has stopped admitting non-emergency cases and is now
devoting its attention to treatment of dengue fever.
The Centers for Disease Control says a total of 13,871 cases of dengue fever
have been reporters islandwide since the start of this summer.
