Final Application Exercise Preparation guidelines
Information:
The purpose of this final application activity is to enable you to demonstrate your ability to think on your feet and identify possible alternative preventative measures.
The day of the exam, you should:
• Bring 1 page of notes to help inform your responses.
Information: You will view one vignette (worth 25 points) and write responses to a series of questions.
When responding to the vignettes, assume the observed behavior is a consistent problem. (i.e., This is not the first time the behavior has occurred.) Use your notes, but do not discuss the content with others.
Be sure to note in writing any assumptions you are making about the situation that influence your response.
The test will contain the following questions:
1. Identify the problem behavior/s in the vignette 2. Identify the alternative/target behaviors
Note: If you believe an alternative behavior is not warranted, explain why.
3. Indicate what you would do right NOW and explain why
4. Identify things (intervention/s) you might do to prevent this reoccurring behavior and why would they be effective as a preventative measure.
