Tourism for sustainable development

Tourism for sustainable development was established to enhance the existing conceptual framework for tourism planning and development (Choi & Sirakaya, 2005). The (World Tourism Or-ganization [WHO], 2004) defines tourism for sustainable development as "using and developing tou-rism resources in a way which allows the enjoyment both of residents and visitors, while at the same time, ensures that these resources will be preserved for use by future generations'.
