Students, thank you for accepting the invitation to the Canvas Directed Self Placement (DSP) exercise that your received through Canvas automated messaging.

By accepting the invitation, you have let me know that you are in fact aware of the requirement. But, as of this morning, you have not yet begun the exercises. So let me explain the DSP process in terms of requirements and consequences.

The DSP modules are a prerequisite to enrolling in your fall English class. You need to complete this course by July 10. If you do not complete this exercise, you will not be allowed at Orientation to enroll in English 1A or English 1AF for fall 2016.

English 1A and English 1AF/1AS are the two courses that satisfy your first writing requirement for graduation. All SJSU students seeking a degree here have to meet this requirement.

If you are enrolling in spring, DSP will still be a prerequisite to enrollment. You will still need to do the DSP.

Why not do the DSP now, and avoid getting another email from me?

July 10 is the last day to comply with this request: Complete DSP now. Do not ignore this email.
