An interesting way to increase spatial resolution is to collect
low spatial resolution (LR) images of the same scene and
fuse them into a HR image using an image processing technique
called superresolution (SR). Though the definition of SR varies
from field to field, multiframe SR is broadly understood to be
a technique that can recover high spatial frequency components
from LR imagery aliased due to undersampling [3]. A major advantage
of this approach is that it can make full use of the available
LR imaging systems, andmay therefore be an economically
interesting alternative for image resolution improvement.
