A radio station hoax took place on April Fool’s Day. They announced that the phone company would clean the dirt(灰尘) out of the phone lines that afternoon. They told the audience that the phone company usually did this by blowing(吹) air into the lines. The problem was that the dirt came out of the earpiece and mouthpiece of the telephone and could make your house dirty .
So the phone company asked people to get plastic(塑料的) bags and put them over the telephones so that their houses would not get dirty.
Soon the phone company revealed that the radio station had just made a hoax, but all the plastic bags in many stores and supermarkets were all sold out.
