Emergency Settings
In case the App is stuck in a state where it is no longer usable, there are a couple of emergency settings which can help to get the App working again. The emergency settings allow to reset the settings of the current or all users to the defaults, close all Tabs or just logout the current user.
Example:
By default the App is configured to restore all Tabs when it is launched. But if a web page was loaded which crashes the App (for example because it requires more RAM than is available), the App would crash again when relaunched, because the web page is loaded again while restoring the Tabs. Using the emergency settings you can close all Tabs before launching the App and easily solve this issue.
These emergency settings are not found within iCab Mobile itself, these are located within the Settings App of the iOS. Therefore these are accessible even when iCab Mobile is not running.
There are the following emergency settings available:
Logout all User
This will logout all users, so the next time the App is launched, it will start with the login screen.
Reset session (Current User)
This option will delete the sessions of the user who is currently logged-in. This means that all Tabs are closed. When the user logs in the next time, the browser starts with an empty page only.
Reset Settings (Current User)
This option will reset the settings of the user who is currently logged-in. This will not delete any of the users data, so bookmarks, downloads etc. are not affected.
Reset Sessions (All Users)
This option will delete the sessions (closing all Tabs) of all users.
Reset Settings (All Users)
This option will reset the settings of all users to the defaults. This will not delete any of the users data, so bookmarks, downloads etc. are not affected.
