讀完這本書之後，我發現馬區太太就好像每個媽媽一樣，在沉默的外表下，處處表現著堅忍的意志，每天默默的付出，往往能冷靜的解決事情，就算是挫折再大，再嚴重，他們依然面不改色、從容不迫，慢慢的把事情解決，這才算是真正的偉大吧！四個姊妹每天的生活，應該都是在想念父親的，盼望父親早日歸來的情況下度過的吧。書中那些看著父親寄來的信而啜泣的畫面，真是令人鼻酸。
