9.2 DSpace at DESIDOCBased on the analysis carried out to compare the most suitable DLS platform to build DESIDOC repositories, it was decided to opt for DSpace for creating these digitalrepositories. Few reasons to go for it was that it used JSP and PostgreSQL as frontend and backend to build the applications. Both of these are available in open domain and easy to work with. Also, postgreSQL is capable of storing and handling large amount to data which was the requirement of DESIDOC. Furthermore, DSpace provides various features for the users like full text search, metadata based search, federated search etc.
