通过对西双版纳自然保护区外来入侵物种的调查发现，保护区内及周边区域共有外来入侵物种22科、46属、54种，这些种类中多数对保护区的影响较小，基本不会影响到保护区的生物多样性，而为害较重的有4种，占总数的7.4%，这些种类对保护区生物多样性会造成一定的影响。为了有效控制外来入侵物种在保护区的扩张，提出了生物防治、开展监测、制定长期防控方案及开展合理利用研究等建议。
