ConclusionTo successfully promote activity engagement and establish successful interventions, we need to know how caregivers view engagement in activity, types of activity PWD participates in, and understand what makes activity beneficial or not. The findings of this study have implications for both practice and further research. They highlighted the importance of activity for both caregivers and PWDs as well as the need to support caregivers to enable PWDs to continue to participate in meaningful activity, improving QoL of both. The positive effects of activity related to promoting individual interests and providing targeted support for both PWDs and caregivers. Supporting activity participation may be effective in improving PWD sense of self, daily functioning, and improve the well-being of the caregiver.
