At this time, it appears that the first mobile application that performs visual concept classification 100 percent on the mobile phone is the Impala app (see Figure 1). Impala automatically creates a series of labeled folders (such as cats, cars, or beaches) and then places pictures from a mobile device’s image gallery into these folders to help the user locate pictures (see Figure 2).
