满-通古斯语族的动物神话是传承北方民族文化的活化石，它是以渔猎采集为生的游猎民族在生产狩猎中创造和传颂的民间文化遗产。20世纪80年代随着东北女神文明研究的深入，人们口耳相传的动物神话也融入了对女神的无尚崇拜色彩，因此通过分析、比较满-通古斯各民族的神话异同，能够深刻地挖掘游猎民族心理和文化的根源，追溯先民原始思维中的万物有灵观、图腾崇拜和生殖崇拜信仰。本文以鸟、熊、鹿、虎这四种动物神话为研究对象，将神话与萨满祭祀仪式、萨满神歌和史前动物艺术造型相结合，从文化人类学角度概括出动物神话所传达的先民母神崇拜心理。
