In this paper, the AlCrN/AlCrNO/AlCrO solar selective absorbingcoating which had been reported before (Gong et al., 2015) was carriedout thermal shocking test. The optical property of the coating after thetest was studied by spectrometer, SEM, EDS, XRD, and AFM. Theseresults were compared with those of the coating after thermal agingtest. All these results indicated that:(1) AlCrN/AlCrNO/AlCrO solar selective absorbing coating possessesperfect thermal shocking resistance. After 100 cycles of thermal shocking test, the coating maintained sound optical properties(0.94/0.23, absorptance/emittance). Compared with as-depositedsample, both the absorptance and the emittance of the coating increased, and the EF decreased from 4.65 to 4.48. But according tothe value of PC of the coating, this coating possessed sound thermalshocking resistance.(2) The effect of thermal shocking test on the optical properties of thecoating was that the test made the interference performance of thecoating in the wavelength range of 500–1300 nm changed. The testtransformed the surface of the coating, and made a lot of defects asholes and cracks. The appearance and dimension of the defects werebeneficial to interference in this wavelength range.(3) Similar to the thermal aging test, the content of nitride in thecoating increased after thermal shocking test. As a result, thethreshold of reflection shifted red and the reflectance of the coatingdecreased.
