The reason for the smaller response in the reflection spectra of Cell C (polymer template) in the above case may be due to lower crosslinking density in the polymer template. To improve the crosslinking density to get a more significant response in reflection spectra, a multiple UV-irradiation-rediffusing method was followed. The first sample (in a 20-lmspacer cell) was photopolymerized in UV light for 1 h and then allowed to be kept in the dark to diffuse the monomer into UV irradiated areas from the surrounding regions. The equipment of the UV-polymerization, washing vessel, and UVmask used in this investigation were submitted as Supporting Information. This UV-polymerization-stock process was repeated five times, which leads to the formation of the cholesteric structure imprinted sample cells. The reflection spectra of the sample cells were thus obtained through the multiple UV-irradiation-rediffusing methods, which is shown inFigure 3 that shows a good response around 450 nm.
