One question of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used to measure self-reported sedentary time. Over a period of the 6-month intervention, the intervention group reduced sedentary time by 99 min compared with the waitlist control. The self-report nature of the measurement, and the significant differences in sedentary time of the intervention and control group at baseline limit the conclusions that can be drawn from this study.14 That research does support future studies whose specific aim is to reduce sedentary behaviour as documented by device- based measures of activity and sedentary behaviour.
