Thus, remote control of the VOD system, meaning all steps necessary to cause the VOD system to send video for display on the television, is not complete without the involvement of the set-top box in the form of the start session message. No reasonable finder of fact could conclude that the start session messages sent by the set-top box in Comcast's system are not the disclaimed "use of a set-top box for remote control of the video-on-demand system.
